I haven't tried that particular lettuce, but we've had really good luck with all of the Summer Crisp varieties. My favorites are Nevada and Cherokee, but the one that outperforms both of those has been Sierra. It's not as pretty, but it handles both heat and cold better than any other lettuce we've tried. We get seed for Sierra from Rupp.

Anyone grow Lovelock OR 5042OROP  from Seedway?  Similar from Johnny's would be Teide Summercrisp from Johnny's #2759?  We've got the Seedway variety inbound and we are doing three beds of 12 varieties to see how several other varieties compare in June, July, and August.

Supposedly these are excellent summertime lettuces in terms of handling heat.
