Hubby thinks all will be OK if we do have to haul plants in. I have about 35
speedling flats started, and I don't relish the idea of trudging back and forth
in the sleet and freezing rain. We've never lost power in the winter time
before, but the weathermen keep saying to prepare for it. I just hope they are
being "drama queens" and it won't happen.
I do have some heavy duty row cover, but I'm not sure it would do the job. It's
very cloudy so we aren't getting any solar gain. And, it will be this way until
Sunday at least. Temps right now are about 29 and dropping fast. The weathermen
are saying there will be so much ice built up on power lines, and with the high
winds the lines will snap. This happened to my parents a few years ago and they
were without power for 2 weeks. I'm thinking Hawaii is sounding really good
right about now!
Thanks for all the great advice,
Carla
