How much snow does it take to affect greenhouses at their sides/base?

Here in Virginia we've already had at least 8" on snow, with 12" more on the way (?!!??)

We're knocking the snow off of our not-designed-for-heavy-snow greenhouses, but of course the snow's just sliding down the sides and piling up at the base... at some point do we need to start shoveling snow away from the sides so that there isn't undue pressure on the sides?
