I love the idea below also and will try it this season. I have had some good results using diatomaceaous earth..animal grade... on flea beetles with these disadvantages: must be reapplied after dew and rain which is a nuisance to do while using row cover and it is non-discriminating...killing the good guys also. I did seem notice a decrease in the beetle population when beneficial insect strip plantings were nearby.
