These bags are not local, they come from Oregon,
but they are made of vegetable cellulose and breathe very well. Our customers
say they keep our salad mix in them for up to 2 weeks. We wash
and spin the mix and then put it in the bags and then put in cooler until
market (next day). They are also very nice looking, clear and easy to see
through. Pak-Sel is the company. 1-800-635-2247 or marc.andersen AT pak-sel.com. They are
not cheap, but we advertise that they are biodegradable bags at farmer's market
and people really like that idea, so perhaps it encourages sales.
