You may also need to give your battery some charging. I ran my Kubota out
of diesel a few summers ago. I got a lot of help from people on line and
got it running again but not too easily. I ended up using my diesel truck
to jump start it. I have several battery chargers but it would have taken a
thousand feet of extension cord. I did not use starter fluid, just glow
plugs and a strong battery.
I broke a hydraulic hose on the backhoe way out in the back pasture a couple
of years ago. The tractor mechanic told me to never use starting fluid on
an engine with glow plugs. I took him at his word. I would just have to
hang up my hat and quit if I had to replace any of the diesel powered
equipment.
