Thanks for the tips...he found it soon after I sent the email.  the problem was he couldn't find where the bleeder valves were located...he knew what to do, just not where--they weren't in the regular place you'd expect them.  It started right up.

Marie, no danger in me becoming a yankee, heck I'm hardly a virginian, hillsville is only about 20 miles from the NC border, so I'm still close to home ; ))  I do love it up here--much further into the mountains than I was so it will be a learning curve on growing stuff here.   Nice to know he and his family have all that down pat.

I'll have an acre and a half for my own personal growing space--could take more pasture and might, but right now need it all for the horses.  An acre and a half is all the room I'd want anyway...that's alot to grow intensively on top of working and building the house, and I get my own greenhouse.  They have several.  Can you imagine having an extra to spare??  I remember the days when I didn't even have a potting shed ; ))  Plus the other acreage is a bit vertically challenged--the flatter acre and a half are more my speed ; ))  This year will be just cover crops...it hasn't been used in about 6 years and is weedy as heck.  Nice to have my fingers back in the dirt...at least dirt that smells of plants and not horse manure ; )))
