I'm going to repeat my plea that farmers make sure they are shooting dogs
that are truly damaging, and NOT shoot dogs on sight simply because they
are on farm property.
This is for your own sake: most of you direct market and you need
community goodwill. If you become known as a farmer who shoots dogs, that
goodwill is going to disappear fast. Your customers -- very likely -- are
clueless about the problems that farmers face.
And yes, I still burn with anger at the bottom-dweller who shot my sister's
dog six times "by accident"; if that makes me an "anthropomorphic pet
loving wacko who needs therapy," so be it.
