They also made the pig pen part of the outhouse, I'm not certain I want part of that bacon.

For the moment that is really not necessary here. It is just good to realise that there have been times it was a necessity. If you have to produce or die and turn over is really critical for survival you may not have a choice. We are still living in luxury now but famine was a real and fairly common guest not that long ago.
