I beg to differ. I contend that the form of government we
started with (aka, back in 1787) was very libertarian. Maybe
not purely libertarian, but pretty close.

The problem is, we've devolved from what we had,
into the current mess over the past 220 or so odd years.
Which is why so many of the people you hear moaning about
the Constitution, are Libertarians.
