Thanks!
I read the dpreview site reviews of both cameras. www.dcresource.com also has reviews, and I read them too. Both sites pretty much agree.

I'm really unsure at this point, I'm just going to continue to read and review the cameras.

Anyone on the list have a Canon Digital Rebel or a Nikon D70?
Looking for info on these digital SLR's from a real person (as
opposed to a faceless internet reviewer).

My friend Sam Bennett (www.swift-bennett.com) had a Digital Rebel. He
quickly traded up to a Canon 20D because the Rebel was so limited. He came
from a pretty heavy 35mm background, so he felt limited by the lack of
features in the Rebel. I'm sure he'd be willing to go into more detail if
you contact him. Tell him I sent you. I too will be buying a 20D in next
week or so.

One of the most honest review sites I've found is Dpreview.com:
www.dpreview.com
They also post example pics and do side-by-side comparisons:

Another great resource is PhotoNotes.org:

Hope this helps.
