The first two dozen times you do it, it's interesting and your learn stuff. After that, it becomes a real PITA. Especially with a real franken-machine where there are no thumbscrews, the motherboard mount isn't removable, the drive bays don't detach, and you have to get creative with your case and some tin snips to get the PCI cards screwed in.
