To my understanding, that concept originated with Macs -- you can do
anything with the keyboard, and there is actually a built in system
utility for managing key commands and creating your own that apply
system wide. All fully realized OS X software is replete with key
commands for most functions.
I'd even say they're more user intuitive, but that's just my bias
speaking I'm sure :-)
