I suppose I could post my problem in a forum but I wouldn't expect any
useful advice. There is no pattern. Its a fresh install of OS X with no
other applications and it freezes up randomly and often. Sometimes I come
home and its frozen and its just been sitting there doing nothing.

Matusiak and I talked about my whacked machine the other night. We both
conclude it must be a hardware problem but I don't know of any way to
diagnose it so I guess I'll take it to Apple for a repair.

You are right. My one data point doesn't mean all macs are bad. I was just
ill last night because I had just hit restart for the second time when I was
writing the email. I guess I should have bought a new one.

Um. theres bigger problems there that you're obviously no addressing.
This isn't a rech support place, so I'm not going into it, but...

Seriously, one bad experience with your mac Tony, doesn't make them all bad.
My iMac, an Original, Bondi Blue, 233 MHz, is currently running OS X,
10.3.5, with 320 megs of ram, and has been doing so for, oh... 55 days
straight. With mail.app, adium, netnewswire, iTunes (With sharing), and
other small appe running 24/7.
