I was thinking about this last night, actually, that while I have missed
maybe 2 opportunities to hunt, that really, I've done pretty good to get
out there and watch and wait. Our season opened in October and closes
the first week of January..there's a limit of 12 and I believe this year
they can all be does. That makes it easy for people like me who don't
see well to get something in the freezer. :)

It turned out for us that a boy on youngest son's soccer team has been
learning to hunt w/ his Grandpa, we invited them over. The first deer was
theirs and we observed them prepare it for processing. That was tough, but
it was the reality of eating meat. The second and third were ours. They
didn't want much meat anyway.

Both deer are in the freezer now but taking out one to pressure can tomorrow
with a friend who is joining me (bringing over her own venison) for an
impromptu holiday deer canning party. We may sample my homemade Irish Cream
liqueur just to make sure it that it tastes good. Tonight we're eating
venison stew (w/ my own tomatoes, potatoes and onions--need to learn to grow
carrots).

That's cool. I am hoping that if I don't get something, that someone will *share the wealth* with us. That's my kind of socialism/bailout.
