Gene,
We homesteaders do have funny ideas about what is fun, don't we? Who else would hum a tune while shoveling manure or forking a garden? Or sitting in the freezing rain. My jack-lighting days are over unless, like Bev says, tshtf. Our two week season is my annual vacation and this year's was about perfect, but would have been almost as good without the meat. I took a lot more shots with my camera than rifle. Especially yesterday with everything coated in ice.

Do deer hunting for fun. Sounds like you are getting what you are paying for.

If you want venison for food, get it as old-time homesteaders got it. You know what I mean.
