By what you wrote below, and similar other of your writings, you seem to be in that group that really believes in the hard core version of TEOTWAWKI. For most people in this country and most of the devoped world do 'earn their keep, 'shuffling' blips on a computer, or papers in an office, or otherwise "ass-sitter" professions and jobs; Or , they do simple service-industry jobs to service and provide for the shufflers and ass-sitters. What are all of those people going to do? Are we all going to kill each other? Are we all going to start indivdual homesteads or communal 'communes' ? Is the gov't going to just disappear? We can only hope that most of it does. Weren't you the one who posted something a while back saying that everyone should learn to farm? I'd like to see a world where all the paper-pushers...or maybe they are electronic blip-watchers today...have to acually produce something that someone can use or eat. That's the problen I have with Obama's make-work plan (as you and other have pointed out). Infrastructure is great, but if you can't sell it, it doesn't bring in any money to pay the workers.
We've gotten too far away from producing products than people want/need. We've even gone beyond a 'service economy', to the point where too many people just shuffle the work that one little guy on the bottom did. I don't know squat about economics, but I know that one guy doing the work for every hundred that repackage/insure/tax/benefit from his work can't last for very long.
