As for southern Missouri being most South-like, this Wisconsin native
found himself immediately feeling "at home" when he moved there.

Before the Resident Felon moved here, the rental house across the road
was occupied by a couple from Wisconsin. Susie had grown up and lived
on a dairy farm and used to say that if my sheep were cows, she would
feel totally at home. She said that northern Georgia reminded her of home.

Could it be, that as people move around and live in various places we
become more homogeneous as a people, with more things in common than
different? Perhaps we think of ourselves, our regions, our states, as
different only so that we can feel a part of something unique?

Or, is it that Wisconsin, southern Missouri, and northern Georgia are
very similar?
