Are the people you know in rural areas homesteader types, or city people
living in the country? Being stressed is a decision; we decide what we
are going to worry about and how much we worry. We decide how busy our
lives will be, and what we are willing to let go of to have peace.

You still seem to be conflicted about what you want...you write as much
about making money as about what you want to do in the country. You say
that you don't care what people think about you, but you mention it over
and over. My own mother thinks I'm crazy, but it doesn't stop me. You
seem to worry about everything; if your personal wealth is tied to the
"morons" that run the country (not just government, but financial, etc),
I can see why you would worry. Put your money in real things, that you
can use, like land. Even if land suddenly becomes worthless, it doesn't
matter if it is valuable to you.
