Perhaps If you really believe this is not the start down the slippery slope,
and that Obama wont drop that to 150,000 to start and scale it up to an
extra 10 percent or more by the time it reaches 250,000. What was the top
rate
under Carter, 75 percent I believe????

Does anyone else feel sorry for Joe? The media has investigated and reported
that he owes back taxes, like about a third of Americans, and that he
doesn't have a current license (which he doesn't need as an employee) The
Media
will smack anyone around that asks an unscripted question of the great Obama.

A plumbing business that has $250,000 in profits after expenses is a
pretty big plumbing business. You do realize that the 3 percent that
Obama is proposing is the marginal rate; i.e., this guy's tax would
only go up 3 percent on the amount he takes in profit above $250,000.

Plus, to buy a business with profits in that range is going to take
several multiples of the profits -- a million dollars or more,
depending. In the current lending climate, I'd guess that taxes on
profits are the least of his worries. (And that's not counting getting
a plumbing license or paying his back taxes.)
