Wendy, I think you are absolutely right about this .... with a couple of
provisos.

It is quite true that what will happen is that soon there will be no Chinese
imports and the fish aisle will be empty. Then there will be expensive US
fish there.

And by all means dust off the aquaculture notes, even if you don't sell fish,
you'd have fish to eat.

But one of the main reasons that US fish is scarce and expensive is the
moronic and laconic regulations. The Chinese can dip fish in vats of
melamine and
sell them to us, but if we don't pay obeisance to the fascist Agribusiness,
we
are enjoined by law not to traffic in fish.

I hope hunger will change that.

Not just fish, but as soon as bolts and fittings can' t be imported, people
will dust off the numerous machine shops, .... then sewing shops, carpentry
shops, injection molding businesses, etc. etc. As I have often opined, in
this
new way of things emerging, it is only the those who expect to sit by the
computer and watch their annuities amass that are going to hurt. It will
take
some time to get there, but hunger and destitution are great motivators.
