My concern is not with safety, but with the safety net. The more
cloned animals that are raised, if this becomes truly economically
viable, the less genetic diversity there will be. Genetic diversity,
in my opinion anyway, is part of our food security. For example, if we
have some major disease, there are often genes within the gene pool
that provide greater resistance to the disease. The smaller the gene
pool, the less chance that the needed genes will still be there.

It is a good time to be raising one's own, isn't it?
