Raised them for ten years but don't have them now, haven't had any for five
years.

The experience here has been that common mixed breed animals generally do
better than cutsie breeds bred for conformity. This is definately NOT the
case
with geese, mixing the breeds greatly cuts down on egg fertitlity and gosling
survival.

If a goose makes a decision about whether to keep an egg in the nest or not,
let her decision be final. Reintroducing eggs is futile at best and can
cause
damage as the goose will be more adamant than ever to get the egg out the
second time.

Geese pair bond and are often monogamous for life, A gander will usually not
take on more than two geese at best.

Geese live a lot longer than chickens.

Unlike chickens and ducks, geese only lay eggs in the spring and only for a
short time.

Geese are very, very messy.
