Like everything else in the Nuclear corner, it would be prohibitively expensive and those tons of rocket fuel would add significant amounts of pollution to the atmosphere not to count the huge quantities of liquid fuel needed to completely escape the Earth's gravity well. Then think on what would happen if there were a launch or near earth explosion as has happened to many unmanned rockets.
