Well, he fixed it. Wouldn't you know; it was a one-dollar circlip (you know, I never have seen that spelled so I don't know if it's right or not--it's not in the dictionary; maybe it's not a word. Hm.) that was affixed to the screw shaft where it comes out of the motor on the door side. So, one more time--chorus join in--a one-dollar (inflation) item shut down the machine.

That is why I used to have several pins and containers of screws, springs, clips, etc. During the summer clean out I dumped a lot of that stuff but now I find I have to make trips to the hardware store again to pick up some little $1 bag of things. That stuff is always important to have around and what I dumped was a 30 year collection. Never clean out when you are angry.
