The answer -- the reliable answer at any rate -- requires empirical
knowledge of how various servers react to larger packet sizes. Brian and
Michael might have some thoughts; I don't have any experience with it.

Unless someone offers something concrete, I think our best route is to
document Gad's experience in the user guide.
