ha, thanks grady, i was just about to write about that, but you beat me
to it. personally, i don't have an ipod and am unaware of this podcast
thing. but, luckily you don't have to have a myspace account to go to a
myspace page, thus it makes it an amazing resource and site for
promotion. the music is streamed from the sites so there's no
cluttering up yer computer with downloads. plug in yer headphones at
work and you're good to go. murdoch aside, it still has enough of an
under the surface underground that you can ignore his ads and
annoyances, much like you do driving down a highway littered with
billboards. honestly, i strongly advise people to take the 2 minutes
and sign up on myspace just because it's a ridiculously easy place to
get information. a couple days before each show, i can send out a
bulletin which goes to everyone on my "friends" list, it's the lazy
man's flyering and it works quite well. bands can post that they need
help on certain dates, labels post new albums coming out, etc. it
really is a great resource for networking and staying in touch.
befriend me, www.myspace.com/bullcityrecords. ;) all the cool kids are!
this has actually been a really fun thread to read for the past couple
days!
