Nope. It's like that here. In fact (and this is why I'm replying),
tying into Ross' point about bands playing with out of town acts, many
times, it is the band themselves who leave after opening for another
band. At 506, there is no hiding place, so if the band you came to see
is leaving, why would you as a fan stick around.
And maybe that's the problem, everyone's attention span is so short
these days that no one wants to spend too much time in any one place...
