OK, running Xsetup got the mouse pointer working. Unfortunately many of the programs don't work. After entering the following instructions "insmod 8390, insmod ne, udhcpc" I expected that the Links-0.90 browser and the Links2 (not Links2ssl) browser would work. No they don't. Links2 won't even come up. Links-0.90 gets a bunch of error mesages about unrecognised lines in the config file. It also got a socket error. Any idea how old this software is?

Do you have an ethernet card that uses 8390/ne modules?
What happens when you type udhcpc - is an IP address assigned?

links2 and links(1) browser share a config file. If you have changed/added any settings in links2, it adds lines which links(1) does not recognize and complains about, but it should work anyway. Unless you are running links2 graphical, links produces a totally black screen. Type 'g' for a URL box.

The software is varying ages. Type links, ESC for a menu, H for help, About, for the version, then look that up online. BL3 is based on 1999 libc5 programs, with some later uclibc parts, and I don't know what Ron added to his 50MB loop file besides links2 (or did you add that?).

Some versions of links2 require X, others svgalib, to do graphics.
For svgalib versions links2 -g -mode 800x600x256, for example.

Did links2 come with that 50MB loop? Do you have all the required libraries for it? ldd links2 will list them.

Be more specific about what you did when you ask for help.
