Nope, none of the above. :)

For MP3 files - mpg123 or MPlayer
For ANY video files - MPlayer
For MIDI files - Timidity (package for BL3 available
http://www.ausreg.com/bl/bl3/timidity_bl3.tgz)
Most other sound files - MPlayer
For streamimng sound/video - MPlayer.
