To use the glibc versions found in SW4.0 you will first need to add
libc.so.6 (symlinked to the glibc libc-2.0.7.so from SW4.0) and
ld-linux.so.2 (symlinked to the SW4.0 ld-linux, whatever it is called).
These total under 2MB.

I agree with Steven that this is way too complicated for a newbie such as I understand Czerno to be (no offense intended, Czerno; just seems to me from some of your comments that you're fairly new to Linux). But then so is "piping the output of tar to rm," as Steven suggested doing to remove pakcages. I could probably figure out how to do that, but I've been using Linux pretty much full time for 5 or 6 years now. Bottom line, Czerno, is that using Linux presents challenges which can best be summed up as comprising a pretty steep learning curve. It's amazing what BL does for a 2-floppy distro, but if you want to push it beyond that functionality, be prepared for challenges. It can be nicely extended, but that requires some hard work, patience, and humility. We'd be happy to help with any continued experimentation you may do.
