It is connected to the #1 parallel port.

It is a simple 9-pin impact printer, and all it needs is to have
plain ASCII sent to the port.

Under DOS, I can send a file to the printer with any of the following
commands:

print file.txt

copy file.txt LPT1:

type file.txt >LPT1:

Surely there must be something similar in linux. After all, hard copy of
files is such a basic function.
