And mine was DOS Navigator, but I have moved to DOS Controller.

I think that covers it pretty well !

Which is why I stick by my recommendation to Greg, coming from DOS as I
did, to get used to an unfamiliar file system using a tool that has a
comfortable familiar feel to it.

But each to his/her own way of dealing with the steep learning curve of
Linux. Command lines are also wonderfully empowering - once you have a good
grasp of the file system layout and have memorised enough commands AND THEIR
SWITCHES to do what you want to do.
