You might want to take a look at the "winimize" project as well at www.winimize.com . He claims to be able to get a Win98 installation into as little as 7MB--though 14MB is considered a standard winimize install. It involves a fair amount of fiddling with installation media and doing some DOS command-line stuff. But it looks like once you go through the routine once, you can make an installation that should work on any IBM-compatible. Now, back to your regularly-scheduled programming . . .

Thanks, will take a look. But our next computer may also need Excel and Powerpoint, for college student. I could not find free smaller equivalents even for windows. I think there is some Powerpoint reader like the Wordview program.

It should be possible to print as 'root' with lpr (and bloated gs, perhaps without the Chinese fonts).
