The latest version that works with 2.2. kernels is 6.00c and I got 404 not

This site works for me to download 6.00c:

I will first attempt to get the precompiled Lucent driver for 2.2.16 working.

Could you post your 2.2.16 driver?

See link in previous posting. The package was not designed for BL, so
I posted directions on how to download and install in on BL3 or BL2.

Did the kernel compile stop with an error message? If not, was it
listed in the output of cd /usr/src/linux; find | grep aic7xxx? If
not, that is very mysterious. Perhaps it's a bug.

No error messages that I noticed but I was not looking for them.
I just realized the 'cd...xxx' meant to look for mention of aic7xxx, which
is found but not as a module.

As I said before, probably a bug. If you need this module, you can try
applying the 2.4.32 patch or 2.4.30 patch and attempt another compile.

I can simply remember to boot with the larger kernel that has the driver built in when I plan to use the scsi scanner, zip drive or CD_burner or external hard disk. Or is there some way to tell the compile to make just that one module, using the Makefile in the aic7xxx directory?

Did you post your 2.2.16 ltmodem modules?

I didn't build them. Other people already figured out how to get it
working with 2.2.16, I merely posted the directions on the BL list.
The two links at your URL are no longer working.

What two links? See above for 6.00c source code. For the ancient
binary driver, see my previous postings. The archive.org links don't
work right now - the site seems to be down. But the original links do
work.

The links to the precompiled 2.2.16 one seem to work. I will try that while waiting to hear about libg++ needed to compile for 2.4.31.
