http://www.geocities.com/davidjmoberg/pbmtox.tar.gz starts a download
of the tools. I only included the pbmto* ones, for space reasons. Once
you download the package, you need to copy the library from there to
your /lib directory, then you can run any of the converters. If I've
left anything out that you need, or it is buggy/doesn't work at all,
please let me know.

I copied the library and a few programs (and the libc5 files from BL3) to the computer hooked up to an Epson-emulating Panasonic KXp1124 dot-matrix printer. Both BL2 and BL3 (chrooted to it for a test).

insmod parport, parport_pc, lp
still as root:

pbmtoepson filename.pbm > /dev/lp0

Printed a few characters, one at the start of each line, and then beeped, and stopped printing. BL2 and BL3 printed different garbage.

Maybe a REAL Epson is needed? I have no other printers hooked up at present - one laser won't accept input, another has a paper jam, the Deskjet 670 keeps going offline, and I need to hook up the printers in the other room via a switchbox soon. I have ESCp/2 and Deskjet 500 there to try and another Panasonic. Will try pbmtolj (on the deskjet) and pbmtoescp2.

pbmtoepson filename.pbm > filename.epson then cat to /dev/lpo has the same result.

Do you have a printer you could try this on, David?
