I think I am going to need to learn to compile netpbm.

I'll try and compile it. Check my website tomorrow for the binaries.

It would take me a month. Can you do it statically?

I didn't compile it statically, BUT you can use it on any i386 PC by
copying these 3 files from BL3:

/lib/libc.so.5
/lib/ld-linux.so.1
/lib/libm.so.5

Remind us of your URL. Perhaps James could link to it or copy your
files to his site.

http://www.geocities.com/davidjmoberg/pbmtox.tar.gz starts a download
of the tools. I only included the pbmto* ones, for space reasons. Once
you download the package, you need to copy the library from there to
your /lib directory, then you can run any of the converters. If I've
left anything out that you need, or it is buggy/doesn't work at all,
please let me know.

You included a large number of things I don't need such as pbmto10x and pbmtog3 and pbmtoln03.

What I can use:
pbmtoepson
pbmtoescp2 (Epson escp/2 printers)
pbmtolj (laserjet - will this work with deskjet too?)
pbmtolps (postscript)
pbmtoppa (HP 720ce 822cse)

No --help on these. Do the man pages look useful?

Is ppm the same as pnm?
I was hoping for a way to also print gif png jpg and tiff without X or gs.

pngtopnm
jpegtopnm
giftopnm
tifftopnm
pstopnm

I did not find any pnmtoepson.
Can pbmtoepson work on a pnm file to at least print in mono?

ppmtogif
ppmtolj - but no epson or other printers
Is there a ppmtops?

Some of the editors look useful (with man pages):
pbmscale
pbmreduce
pnmcrop
pnmmontage
pnmrotate

and probably several others.

I will first try out pbmtoepson and pbmtolj (on the deskjet).
