Is there some simple way to set up BL2 to type and print Cyrillic using downloaded fonts? I found a DOS program that does this (VGA screen fonts and downloaded 9 or 24 pin printer fonts) but the character set used is off by one number from cp866 in lower case (so if you type the Russian equivalent of abcde and then send the file to someone else to read they will see bcdef, but ABCDE comes out right).

kdb.tgz has the keyboard and font programs, but how does one print with downloadable fonts in linux? Graphical printing is at least 8 times as slow (with a different DOS program it makes 8 passes to print one word).

Another oddity is that the program with the screen fonts displays on one 386 with the bottom few pixels of each letter duplicated below the character looking like a jagged underline. Usable but strange. On the other 386 there is no contrast control so you cannot use the program (which is in color and therefore not legible) but the above problem does not occur. (This latter computer won't do linux). Is linux likely to have the same display problems with screen fonts? The problem persists after exiting the program but goes away when you use the other Russian typing program (which is graphical). The first program does not work on a 286, it crashes instead. This is for a visiting Bulgarian neighbor who asked why all the typewriters here were Roman alphabet.
