No, nothing like that at all. disk1.img is *much*
more complex.

Everything you need to know is in the Bootdisk-HOWTO.

Same problem. The routine is on the first floppy.
To edit the routine, you need to extract the root
filesystem from the first floppy (not easy). You
then need to recreate the first floppy with the
modified root filesystem (not easy).
