I have not been taught that language at school.
Glurps? :) Yippurs, always remains. Check any standard Latin grammar
under stress accent.

The original issue is about short vowels becoming long when pre-tonic!?
This word does not address this issue at all.
I was responding to this statement:
I find it hard to believe that an unaccented vowel could be lenghthened !?
This is unheard of.
I took this to mean that long vowels could not stand in unstressed
syllables. You apparently were talking about "pretonic vowels" becoming
long, as part of a linguistic process?
