Yonah:

No, I see the seventieth seven as the last one.

As for the start, it was at about the time of Ezra, as the command was
given to Nehemiah, a contemporary of Ezra.

The total context of Daniel will have to include the book of Nehemiah.
Notice, when Nehemiah first went to Jerusalem, there was the temple, a
few houses for priests and government officials, but otherwise the
city was an expanse of ruins. During difficult times, Nehemiah rebuilt
the city walls and repopulated the city. Nehemiah did this according
to the command of his king. This is clearly the beginning of the
seventy sevens.

My understanding of Daniel is that vs. 27 is that the final seven is
being described.

Remember, this is a prophecy concerning the city of Jerusalem and the
people connected with it.

Karl,

Do you then see the seventieth seven as also concurrent? Where do you see
the periods beginning?
