It makes no difference whether you call it the work of Moses (which any
reader who is not precommited to the proposition and who reads the text
carefully cannot accept) or the work of the Deuteronomist. The fact is,
that's where the tendency appears. I used to be committed to the Mosiaic
hypothesis, but found that it is untennable. Your position is based
upon a refusal to EXAMINE THE FACTS which would reveal that a Mosaic
authorship is impossible. You declare what scripture MUST BE then make
it conform to your conception.

George, please can you give us a rundown of the FACTS which seem to you so clearly to disprove Karl's statement that "the guy who wrote most of the book of Deuteronomy, was Moses"?

Note that Karl carefully wrote "most of the book". So don't come up with old chestnuts like that Moses could not have described his own death. The great majority of the book is presented as the words of Moses, in fact apparently all but 1:1-5, 27:1a,9a,11, 29:1,2a, 31:1,7a,9,10a,14-30, 32:44-46a,48-52, 33:1 and all of chapter 34 (maybe I have missed a few details). But are there clear FACTS which reveal that the impossibility of Mosaic authorship of this material which is attributed to Moses, or at least the great majority of it?

PS Thank you for at last correcting your system date.
