Thats what I was doing... I suggested including usb support in the
kernel which would solve both your problem and the keyboard problem
(which I've seen come up on irc several times). Im not sure how that was
"out of topic". Im also not sure how my trying to explain (again) that
just enabling some usb options (which are even outlined in bug 7911) would
fix the problem is somehow being counter-productive or not positive...

I dont know where the kernel configs live for this particular branch of
the iso but I'll be happy to submit a change to enable usb keyboard/cdrom
support. Just tell me where.

In anycase I gave my feedback on this particular topic, and I dont have
anything more to say on it. Sorry if I am somehow being misinterprited
as doing something other than trying to help suggest how to fix something.

And Ive filed bugs based on experiences Ive had trying to help users
get started which I also hope will lead to a better iso :-)
