Hey there Benoit,

Further to this, why not have lilo working as well? I've posted the
patch for bin86 to bugzilla:

http://bugs.sourcemage.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8191

I did test the patched bin86 spell and lilo and it all worked just fine
(though I never tried booting from the installed images... I'm just
guessing at this point that there wouldn't be any reason why it wouldn't
work...)

You also wanted reports about this stuff, so here's my notes (finally):

The language menu in the installer is ugly, not like the other style
which is more similar to glibc's language choosing menu.

What the heck are the "spell is being investigated" messages during
install? I found them confusing and unnecessary.

Of course, you already know this one - no bootloader getting installed.

Sorcery tries using /usr/lib/installwatch.so, which is broken... ldd
shows /lib/ld-linux.so.2: cannot execute binary file

There were problems with networking until I built my own kernel (not
sure why, even with the appropriate kernel module loaded, but it wasn't
working... the driver is the 8139too)

I believe sorcery's archspecs for x86_64 are incorrect... HOST should
probably be x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, and march=k8 for amd64 (though march=k8
isn't supported in gcc 3.3.3, so as soon as we're using gcc 3.4 across
the board, we should fix the CFLAGS), not sure if x86_64-pc-linux-gnu is
a gcc 3.4 only supported thing or not...

Anyhow, aside from that, the install was just fine... We've obviously
got a ways to go on the x86_64 front, though. There's still plenty of
spells that don't work quite right without x86_64 specific fixes...

Enjoy!
