Yes, I know I can edit httpd.conf etc. I am root after all :-)

I guess my main objection is that if you're going to make a "default default"
make it somewhere that stands a good chance of being on a filesystem other
than the root FS:

/usr/local/srv/
/usr/share/srv
/var/srv

or something along those lines. For most people, data should not be on a root
filesystem and the defaults should make that implicitly clear.
