IMHO, I don't think we need this, I usually put my server roots (http,
ftp etc) in /home/FTP or /home/apache. So I think that should be left up
to the user. If they want their junk there, then they can move it.

As for /media. Why? /mnt is perfectly fine. And what about the hard
drive that's internal to my computer that I mount there (/mnt/storage).
I use it to transfer between windows and linux (vfat). I suppose it
doesn't really matter at all...
I don't think we need to change the defaults.
My votes:
We can do the /srv thing because it's fairly intuitive. /srv/http are my
htdocs /srv/ftp/pub is my anonymous ftp. Not bad.

/media I don't like It makes me think of .mp3 or .ogg or whatever. (I
use mp3 because I just got a new head unit for my car that does mp3's
off a cd :D )

Bottom-Line:
Do /srv if majority agrees and we can determine a real benefit of it.
Don't do /media. Even if /mnt has a couple things in it, it can still be
used by the admin for quick mounts.
