I agree. I use /home/ftp and /home/www and would find /srv unnecessary and
ugly. It's also another mount point to administer....

/mnt/tmp is for emergency mounts. /mnt/cdrom etc. are (a) perfectly good and
(b) well known and understood.

My vote: If it's not broken, don't fix it
