We use the shady north facing porch. When we first started doing this in 2001, "the summer our AC died," we used what we had on hand. A crockpot, electric frying pan, hot plate, and I bought one of those portable roaster ovens. Later I bought a natural gas stove and had it tweaked to run on propane, and that plus the crock pot is what we've been using ever since. We've also added a cart which makes it easier to bring prepped food from the kitchen to the porch and return cooked food to the house.

We use the wood burner for space heat and also occasionally for some long-slow cooking like chili or a stew.

Outdoor kitchen for the summer.
How do you accomplish that? Roof or noroof? Water? etc.?

Wood burning stove for backup.
For space heat plus cooking?
