Scott--

Fecal transplants were mentioned in this article
http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2012/10/22/121022fa_fact_specter

non-subscribers only get the abstract, but the story was about the benefits
of a healthy gut flora and how doctors are finally getting that we need a
diverse flora and that antibiotics destroy it. They mentioned people with
severely damaged flora who are terribly sick, and how fecal transplants from
family members is a highly effective cure. One man with severe ear
infections, that doctors were never able to treat, cured himself by putting
earwax from the uninfected ear into the infected ear. It's a very encouraging
article.
