I googled "free land in Kansas" and came up with a lot of hits. By
substituting other states for "Kansas" you can search a wider range of
locations.

Hi Justin:

I bought my first parcel of farm land 25 years ago on a land contract
with a down-payment of $600. It was 13 acres.

It had been tenant farmed for years. The top soil was pretty much fried.
It has since gone through two 10 year CRP contracts to rebuild the top
soil.

I've added two more parcels since purchasing the initial 13 acres. It's
now 32 acres. The place is totally transformed. It has exploded with
wildlife. You couldn't even find a squirrel twenty five years ago. Now
there are owls, pheasants, hawks, herons, geese, raccoons, deer ....
that all call this place home.

Every day I go out and work it I get gifted with something new.

You might consider approaching the owner of the land and see if they
will carry the paper. This way you do not need to go through a realtor
or a bank.

If you go down this path you will need to have a land contract drawn up.
I had an attorney do that part.

Sincerely:
